With popular demand, here is building up passive income streams, week 1! Right now, I'm building up a copywriting agency while transitioning into MLOps engineering. By the end of 2023, the goal is to reach $5k a month copywriting, land a challenging and lucrative job in MlOps, and make some money (any amount of money!) using a faceless Tiktok channel. I've got a plan for that last one, but I haven't started yet - as I said last week, one can only do one thing at once. I regret to say I'm off to a bad start. This week I:
I've paid around $2.5k for courses, mentorship and coaching. (If you're good at a thing, never do it for free.) Anyway, outreach and exposure is step 1 to making money - so much so that I paid $1000 for someone to teach me how to do it effectively. "Networking" (by the way) is simply outreach for corporate careers. There's an almost perfect overlap in the skillsets. This week I had a lot on my plate, but outreach is really what moves the needle, and I didn't do any of it. If you want to change your life but don't know how, here are three steps to get you started on: 1) Make a services page (Doesn't have to fancy; mine is pretty bare-bones) 2) Do outreach! When doing outreach, you're consistently reinforcing one message: the call to action. For clients/referrals/job opportunities that's booking a call with you. If you're selling a product, that's the checkout link. 3) Close on call. Once you get them on call, the chances of them paying you goes way way way up. I'll be distilling that $1000+ worth of information on outreach into a PDF; stay tuned for it next week! I'll also be including more examples of really great services pages.
